I was wondering does this look like a 18 in rim for a first gen guy says it is but I'm new to vmaxs and looks kinda off but I could be wrong any help would be appreciated 1000002954.jpg

That looks like a solid 18" wheel blank, machined to be the same appearance as the 1988-2007 rear wheels. Looks like it's well-done, to me. Our wheels are unique to the bike, they were never used on any other bike besides the Gen. 1. What did you pay for it?

The wheel inside the rims should be something like 5-1/2" to 6" for radial tires. A 170 to 190 should fit, but either a 170 or a 180 would be best on that size 18" rim. A 190 might rub the left side of the swingarm, and require you to do the "washer swap," where the left washer is placed inside the final drive case and against the wheel, providing a bit more room for the tire.

I haven't bought it yet just trying to make sure it's what I need for the swap and he wants 200 shipped I just always worry about scams

The original rear wheel has got the bushings and needele bearing, and normal bearing in the center of the rim, like this:

The wheel you`re showing is missing all of that so I don't see how that`s ever going to fit.

That's definitely not going to fit unless it's has its own hub drive to fit a gen1. I have a 18x5 an it looks nothing like that.

I pretty sure this is a scam. I've seen the background of this picture before. I'm pretty sure it's from someone in the UK that builds parts for gen 1.
