Good morning,

I am in the need of new dynabeads for my new setup with 17" wheels. I have used dynabeads before with issues. Now looking online, there seems to be several knock off brands for sale. Has anyone tried the other brands available?

Such brands found so far are as follows:

Ceramic beads @ $1.70/1oz - http://www.checkeredflagtires.com/
tyrebeads - ceramic and stainless steel beads
counteract beads

Thanks for your input

Yes, dynabeads are ceramic and I listed the others that I have come across searching for my 3oz bag to balance my wheels.

Ive used Dyna beads, and for me they seem to work. If I remember right, the Dyna beads are ceramic beads. I havent heard of the others.

How different could they be? Was there a patent on ceramic beads? It might have run out, just like the one Fein had on oscillating tools. That's why home Depot has one from every tool company now. I bet most guys who wanted dyna beads just searched and bought the brand name. I'm considering them so I can do my own tire changes.

well perhaps I have to try the ones at this site. The owner answered and sells them to all the big trucking companys in bulk. At $1.70/1oz how can you fail? I know I need 3oz for both wheels.

Here's the link to this shop:

He was even willing to ship a sample bag for free!

Sweet. I'm thinking I might get some and see if the shop that does my tires will put them in. Is this the system where you take the core out of the valve stem and pour the beads in, then rebuild it and pump the tire back up?

The method I used to get them in is to use my electric toothbrush to vibrate the tube as you put them in. Seemed to work well. If you don't have one maybe the girlfriend or wife has something that will do the same thing. Lol

The cheapest I have found for dyna beads is $20 for a 5oz bag. I am thinking of trying these cheaper ones since the guy swears they are exactly like the dyna beads and uses them for all his fleet trucks. I was even thinking of trying in my SUV too.

I remember reading somewhere, that the ones for cars are "Bigger" as to be able to roll over the ridges that are in car and truck tires.

Good not to research for sure! I will look at the dyna bead site to see what they say first.

many thanks.....

Not sure about the bigger thing. The balancing agent we use in our bus tires has beads so small that they are almost a powder:confused2:

I cant remember where I read it....it might have been a discussion on another group. Now that i'm looking for it...I naturally cant find it.:confused2:
