Through the years I've had more bikes than I can remember. I must say that the Vmax does one thing that most others did not; Turn heads.

Besides the chromed scoops, maybe it's the Kerker 4-2-1 exhaust with full-time V-boost = raspy idle that gets attention.

Whatever the reason I get more head-turning & compliments on Mr. Max than any other bike I've ever owned.

What's your experience?

very true I can't go down the steet here without seeing everyone I come by with their head turned checking my bike out and pretty well all the time even the Harley guys have a smile ear to ear!!! Vmax is a true legend in my book

Yep, the only bike made that sounds like a header equipped car when you get the right pipe on it!

definitely can back up the exhaust sounds with performance, not just a noise maker for attention, only down side to my kerker, cant be stealthy at all on the back streets in the middle of the night. Might need repacking. but for sure everyone wants to talk about the bike when they see it. :punk:

Ro, you shouldn't be on the back streets in the middle of the night....evil lurks there!! :th_smilie:

Ditto on catching peoples attention.....I live in a town of 16k, and at one time there were 8-10 piped Vmaxes in our riding group.....that will get all the attention you want once everyone gets rolling for a Friday or Saturday nite cruise.....

Agreed on the eye candy. I enjoy going to the local bike night. I will stand a ways away from my bike and people watch. It is very interesting to watch when people will cross far from the other side to have a look. They don't seem to notice the $30k chromed Harley next to me, They see the Max. Great feeling watching a $9k bike win the viewing contest.

$9k my ass, well at least the purchase price. Who know the damage the monkey has done to the wallet. Oh yea the bear too.

Which is exactly why I went used and older. I have nowhere near that in my Max (roughly $4K including mods). It gets the same looks. Arizona Bike Week is going on here and the Vmax is routinely the bike of interest in a 50 foot radius.

That's the good thing about a design that didn't change for over two decades . . .

My chopper turned more heads then my Max, But for some reason the Max gets more verbal comments. especially now that it has changed.

I think it's about a tie now between the two. I don't miss the chopper like I think I would the Vmax if I were to get rid of it. Come to think about it, I really don't miss the rigid, back busting, big turning radius chopper at all. However, I do miss the big engine it had.

It sounds like you have your next picked out. Sean's 1300 engine!

I'm pretty much done with the Vmax. the 127 in the other bike put down 140hp and 140tq to the ground. had a decent pull and top end with the baker 6 sp.

if the timing is right for a vintage early 1900's bike, then I'm going to jump on it. I had a chance to pick up a 1938 CZ last year for a couple of grand, but I didn't have the cash at the time and someone beat me to it. There is alot of old bikes up here, its just a matter of time before I find another.

Here is a pic of a friend of mine's bike he restored.

When I bought my VMAX last May it was like this and turned all kinds of heads, unfortunately 2 of them were cops.........lol

Then I did a lot of work and put a set of Mark's exhaust on and now my bike sounds nice I think.

I'm selling it and have one person very interested. If he changes his mind I am going to keep it. Even if it has to sit for a year or 2. I have to have a few surgeries but I hope that after that I can ride again...

Thanks to Sean rebuilding my carbs after the UFO pipes were taken off. I put on a set of Mark's 4 into 2 with 14" can and 2" holes I love the sound of this VMAX.. this video doesn't do it justice

Yea I like the sound of Mark's a lot - it's closer to my Jardines which have a nice blurble without being overly loud, until the motor gets to about 5000 rpm that is...

eagle, if its gonna sit for a bit make sure u take full precautions so its ready to go when its time.

Thanks I will as I did this winter.. The guy who wants it sounds serious and he sounds like a straight shooter so I have a feeling once he sees it I won't have it anymore, if he changes his mind or finds another one I decided I will keep it.

And thank you once again I will make sure it is storged properly.... and if I end up keeping it I would love to find a ride and meet some of you guys who ahve helped me a lot.

people like yourself and Sean are top notch among the rest of the guys who helped me a lot..

You ever know you should sell so it doesn't sit and yet way down inside you hope they change their mind.........lol I'm a man of my word and if he wants it it's his but if he doesn't it's still mind :)

The Max is the best of both worlds. I get respect from the sport bikes and the Harleys. The sport bikes never seen such a big bike woop there ass to 100 mph. And the Harleys, well they just know how good it looks and how much more power it has over them.

Ya know, theres not many around here is SoCal. So it makes it pretty easy for me to stand out in the crowd. Its hard to be different from everyone else down here, but the Vmax makes it easy cause its in a class of its own.

I petty the fool. haha
