In 1986, My stock except S.Trap slip ons 1986 took me to 150 indicated which I am sure the error gets bigger the faster you go. The wind blast was incredible but was was wierd was the aerodynamic forces felt like it was trying to pull my helmet off? I was tucked as well as a 6'2 person could be. I ran with ZX-10s and Honda Hurricanes then,(remember them?)
I would have stayed in it longer if the whole helmet thing didn't unnerve me. Young and dumb,,,young and dumb. Anyone else have that? I regularly blast 120 on my way to and from work with my 1990 but it has 43mm tubes with Progressive springs, dropped in the trees, radial tire, no fender and at that speed, it just starts feeling exciting or well, fast ! My VMOA chapter leader has a fuel injected, USD fork, lowered bike that it is running right at 160 on the tracks. Sounds like Sean M is on track with it taking more motor to hit Busa speeds. Anyone ever see a fully faired Max?
