filling filter

Do any of you guys know where one can buy a screen filter that fits into the gas tank filler hole. - and after a season did you notice if it caught any crap from going in the tank - therefore making it worth the effort. I took a flashligh and had a real good look in the tank - I had to get a few pieces of crap out that I guess had fallen in there.....I'm pretty careful, I suspect it was from the previous owner but I'm not 100% sure.

You might try a lawn mower shop or someplace that sells lawn equipment. A lot of mowers and weed eaters and power equipment and even gas cans have those fill neck filters that slide in and out of the filler neck.
