Today is the first day you can buy ethanol gas in the cochella valley in so cal.
It is priced at $2.34 a gallon-89 octane is $4.99.
Is it good or bad for a vmax?:ummm:

It depends... the Max can handle E-10 (10% ethanol) just fine, but anything beyond that, such as E-15, or that E-85 stuff for those flex-fuel vehicles, will kill the fuel systems of any vehicle not designed for it.

If it is E-10, you should be fine. If it is E-15 or greater, avoid it like the the Mother-in-Law!

I use E10 (10% ethonal, 87 octane) with Sta-bil marine formula ethanol treatment and all is well.

I mix in some Techron if I HAVE to use 10% ethanol. My preference is NON-ethanol at the local boat marina.

All engines run better and get significantly better milage on non-ethenol, and your rubber carb parts will last way longer too.

Ok, the question is... is this fuel legal for the street? Cause I can expect to burn about a gallon of gas just goin to the nearest one to me and back. Last I knew there are some seriously hefty fines for running non-street gasoline in your vehicle.

I can't imagine that many stations selling non-ethanol illegally.

The ones in Maine are all at Marinas and airports, which would indicate to me that the fuel is intended for boating or aviation use.

Yes, all these stations in La have road tax at the pump.

Seems to be legal in GA. This pump is about 2 miles from a marina at Lake Jackson.
