Hey y'all! Just checking in for the occasional pestering . Had a thought cross my mind - gapless rings seal better but make more friction, negating the benefits in power. So, would it be ill-advised to run a low-tension oil control and a gapless top ring? ONLY the gapless top ring? As in no 2nd ring whatsoever?

Seems plausible, since the top ring would seal as completely as can be done.

I had debated using them years ago but decided the stock rings work just fine with the compression ratios we're using on these engines.

My main thIng with them is the stories I've been told by people who use them. One dude ran a set in his Dodge pickup(understanding it's a different animal) and went 10,000 miles before he changed his oil - it was still clear.

That suggests a lot less frequent oil changes, just wonder if that'd carry over to a bike.

It's just another internal combustion engine so set up and driven in a similar fashion you could expect similar results.
