Is it nessasary to remove the forks to do this?
From watching Seans video, it "looks" like you could remove cap, remove nut then remove the spacer/washer and then the spring on the bike?
I understand to get the correct oil level/height the forks have to be removed.
I also realize that a minute amount of oil would remain on the old springs when they are removed.
Just figured I could try the springs with the current oil, then if I didn't like the feel I could do the oil.
If the oil is nasty, then I'd just go forward with removing them.

That is how I changed my stock springs to Progressive spring on my '92. when I installed my Ricor Intiminator valves I removed my forks so I could do a full service on the wear parts and be sure I completely got all of the old oil out of the fork tubes.

No, just raise the front wheel off the ground to get the weight off the springs prior to removing.

Yeah, I kinda thought Id have to do it on the center stand with my small jack under it to keep it up.
Do I let the air out on the ground or it doesn't matter?
