Five months later and I still have the VMax. The reverse bleed method worked great and the front brake system is like new again (all new parts).
I have been taking a long time fixing the bike up for sale -- replacing the damaged bits. Still a work in progress. Its mostly done, just need a new clutch lever and turn signal. Still have to change out the rear brake fluid. The scrape on the left tail pipe will be the only sign of the accidents.
I just ride the bike on short trips over less traveled roads. Gradually regaining confidence. Now and then I pull in the clutch to check the rolling resistance. That was the warning sign I ignored before the previous crashes. But she rolls fine now.
I made a promise to my wife to sell it, but she is OK with me waiting till next spring when it will be easier to sell.
