Do you have to remove the front ign coils to test the secondary resistance,or can you remove the plug cap and test them through the HT lead.

Test from plug boot to ground. Then, subtract the resistance of the boot and wire.

Just slide up the upper grommet and unscrew the boot from the wire.

I can't get a secondary reading on all 4 coils,the primary reading is 3.4-3.5 that should be 2.4-3.0.Alll 4 plug caps read 4.5,they should read 10k ohms.

Measure directly from coil at wire connection to ground. It could be bad wire and/or boot.

All 4 coils are in spec,everything else has been tested.The only time i get a spark is when i turn the ignition switch or run switch off.The stator reading is 0.8,the only thing left as suspect is the TCI unit.Whats the chances of this being knackered on a 94 max,i'm running out of options.

Does the starter motor turn? I don’t believe it does if the side-stand switch is on.

Cranking volts and everything else tested good,pick up coils in speck,sidestand switch and relay good.Got a TCI on its way,if that fails to solve it am breaking it for parts and getting a moped.

It was the TCI unit,now got big beautiful blue sparks.

She's alive,She was running on three.I had visions of having to take the carbs off,i took the the float bowl drain screw out and it was dry.I started her up and tapped the back of the carb with a small hammer,it worked.I must say that UFO exhaust i bought from the States sounds fantastic,the rear down pipe i had to make works great.
