I try to use non ethanol, but it runs great on it too. Around here its hard to find plain fuel unless i spend coin on the premium. I will try draining the bowls a few more times and see what happens i guess. I miss my bike :confused2:

How long is the fuel pump supposed to run?

On an 85-89, it runs 5 seconds at the most when the key is turned on. Then, it's on demand while running... If a Float is stuck, it then keeps on running and running....

I'm glad yours runs fine on Ethanol. As long as it's fresh gas you may be fine but don't let the gas set for any length of time without treating it. It retains water and will rust anything it can. That rust will end up in your carbs as tiny little particles... Even with the fuel filter in place, some will get past it.

What I've seen has been pretty good material. Changing them would be on an individual basis, I haven't seen the need with either of mine...

well i pulled the carbs off and split em and examined everything, and everything looks clean as a whistle. Guess i dunno what the hell is going on with this thing. Tried adjusting the floats a touch to bring fuel level down

Well got the carbs back on the bike and took it for a run and it runs insanely good again. How would the float adjustment get out of whack all of a sudden? i set them like people have said before with the half moon in the float lined up to that round casting mark. Thjis time when i set them i left about a 1/16" gap between that.
