I sent my carbs off to Eric (Traumahawk) to get them done correctly and hopefully solve some of the issues I was having.

In the meantime, I took off the lower carb/intake assembly to look for possible issues and found one of the joints to the v-boost valve was cracked.

I assume that is contributing to my vacuum issues at idle.

The rest were quite hard so I replaced them all on spec, and when putting the assembly back in place noticed oil in the outer bolt hole for cylinders 2 & 3.

I was able to soak up the oil in the cylinder 3 hole, but cylinder 2 kept filling back up.

After a moment of panic, I thought to check our great forum here and learned it was normal: https://www.vmaxforum.net/threads/oil-leaking-from-intake-bolt-holes-wtf.16142/

Glad you undertook the work, and probably did better than your generic Japanese bike "we will work on anything" mechanic.

Remember using some starting fluid on the intake pieces with the engine running, and waiting to hear the revs increase, when the starting fluid is sucked-into the inlet passages through something like you just found, or past an O-ring like the ones under the VBoost manifolds; is a way to find things needing further inspection/disassembly.
