Does anyone know what the correct engine colour should be? I get the black parts but what about the side covers and sump?
Also, what are the screw holes in the cylinder side covers for? Nothing in mine

Don't recall ever seeing a spec. for the covers other than 'black' so it probably doesn't matter which one you use?
They are to retain part #9.
Note that they also keep #11 (crankcase coolant drain plugs) in place which are push fit. These would probably blow out as the engine comes up to temperature if they were not there.

The original color is just shy of being a high gloss. It's a mediumish/low gloss black (except for 2003-2007 which were textured satin black)

If there a recommended adhesive to use to hold the tappet cover rubber gasket in place?
