Vmax Mike, please reread post 21. Then take your testosterone laden panties out of the wad you've managed to put them in. Good god man, it'only smack talk, and I'm certain sure you really did not just call anyone a puss. Your infamous Thunder ride was understood to be an earlybird Thursday ride, and when you finally settled on leading it on Friday instead, Shala and I decided to hang back and participate in the group activities that were posted up months in advance rather than spend the day frollicking through the 35 - 45 mph PA/WV countryside with you. He! l, we came a day early thinking we were going on a ride with you on THURSDAY. As for our participation in Thunder's Saturday ride, well it too, had been publicised well in advance. If you missed it, you missed it. Not a big deal. I wish I could have done your ride too....would have been great watching such a master at work on two wheels.
Now calm down a bit and take a deep breath. Relax.
Todd, year before last, we had about a dozen "earlybirds" ride Friday, and I volunteered a 150 mile lunch loop up into Missouri. Last year, I offered to do it again because everyone seemed to like my chosen route, but I added 50 more miles, and included a stop at my house for a catered bbq lunch. Trouble was, 1st weekend in May and a late snow forced us to substitute cars and trucks for the bikes. We are planning the same basic itinerary this year, less the snow.
The Saturday ride is usually a bit over 250 scenic AR miles, an Michael sometimes switches up on the exact routing. In the six or seven years I've been participating, we usually have between 20 to 25 bikes at the hotel on Sat. I think one year it was just over 30. Not everyone rides Saturday. Some only ride in for the day. Others will hang around historic Eureka Springs and explore on thier own and meet back at the hotel for evening tire kicking and lie telling.
Most everyone heads home on Sunday, and back to work on Monday.
This rally is not associated with any big venue like your Thunder event. No rally specific vendors. No parade. Just good VMOA inspired fellowship with some optional Ozark twisty, ride at your own pace, riding thrown in. With that one exception (sorry Ted-Ted got himself lost), nobody gets left behind. Oh, and we tend to seek out good food occasionally too. Come one. Come all. The Eureka Springs, AR rally is a good time.
