Refurbishing original saddlebags: I am in the process of having one of my 2 sets of saddlebags refurbished. For this I had the aluminum panels polished to a high gloss and I'm not sure whether I should paint them or just seal them with a special wax....!? When painting with clear coat, there is always the problem that the paint is undermined at some point and it looks as if it is rotting. Do you have any ideas? The bags should be covered with genuine leather and should remain as original as possible in terms of appearance. I've found a leather maker who dares to do this difficult work.The last pictures show the pockets and the aluminum panels before.....
