Hello all,
I just bought my first Vmax a couple of weeks ago. I took it out on a country road where no one was around. And from a stop I opened it up to see what the high rpm fuel injection is all about...Wow! The front end came up in second gear and it accelerated so fast, That I seemd to have gotten hit with g-force. My vision blurred and I got sick to my stomach. I have had a lot of fast bikes before, but nothing like this :th_image003:.
Has anyone else had that happen to them? Or passed out?

Can't say that I have. It was definately noticeable on the old funnybike. but not eyes blurry, verge of black-out strong. Just an intence feeling of the bike wanting to scream out from under you.

Kenny Bernstein was talking about launching his top fuel dragster, he said you can't really see anything in the first 2 seconds. Its all a blur and you drive by feeling. Then he gave praise to the people who back him up.

What brand of fuel injection are you running?

How about a barely-streetable small block Chevy with high compression & 103 octane, running thru a 3-2's manifold/carbs where the outer two's just dump at 4500+ rpm? Don't forget the 2.02/1.6" heads & a Duntov cam! How's that compare, similar feel? Oh, and put it in a stripped '65 Nova II two-door, of course!

Fuel injection ? Yes ther fun but unless some one changed yours a 92 is carburetod

I am actually thinking about putting that style of stripes on my '01 in the future. Partly cause I like the look and partly cause I feel it appropriate with the way a V-Max likes to move forward :biglaugh:

stripped = lightened ( like a diet ) , striped = stripes ( like a skunk ) :rofl_200:

Clearly, I need more Military Special Bourbon :)

They say stock v-max can accelerate to 100kph within 3,2s so in a science acceleration that would be:

a * 3,2s = (100km/h) / (3,6 (km/h)/(m/s))
a = 100 / 3,6 / 3,2 m/s^2

a = 8,68 m/s^2

1G is equal to gravitation acceleration so 9,80665 m/s^2.
You would need to mod your v-max to 2,8 s for 100 kph to feel 1G.

Just a tought ;)

Allow me to second your description of the outboard 2 barrels opening up , but at 3500 rpm's , on a 451 ci big block Mopar...:punk:

Maybe that's what made me so fond of Mr Max in the first place...that first venture into V boost territory...:worthy:

I wonder what the practical "limit" for g-force acceleration would be on a normal, streetable bike. Like how fast could it be and have a normal person still be able to actually hang on without having the bike literally drive out from under them. I guess the solution would just to have a big backrest to keep your ass from going off the back.

I suppose the fastest I've felt is the 1.7G acceleration on the Kingda Ka at the six flags in NJ, that's 0-128 in 3.5 sec. But then you're in a high-backed seat and fully supported for it, not perched on top of a missile.

Since I am a child of the Space Age, I am going to invoke the name of Dick Stap, who was the person who rode the rocket sled to its highest acceleration. I think he had detached retinas & other problems from it.
