Ok....needing a bit of help on this one. I'm buying these for the groomsmen in my wedding......

I'm not sure what to have engraved on them. I've got it narrowed down to a few options. What do you think might be the better idea?

Or maybe I'm not thinking of another good phrase? Got any suggestions?

I'm just amazed you have a friend named John Doe... What are the chances?

Chris
also looking for ideas...

My gift to the guys in my wedding was to pay for their tuxes. After all, I asked them to be in the wedding. Or you could have them pay for it and then just give them a $100 back the day of the wedding so they have plenty of drink $$.

My wife and I didn't want to worry about any BS. Weddings get waay to complicated, too much planning, too much worrying, too much money. We just took off and drove to the beach. Found a "pastor" down there who owned an ice cream shop. He married us right on the beach. After the wedding we drove to this huge flower garden a few miles away and had family/friends take photos. After that we all went out to dinner at a local restaurant, nothing fancy. We had about one hour of planning involved and it was great! We told our families this is where we are going to get married. Feel free to tag along. If you can't make it for any reason, no worries.

Worked great for us. Still married 7 1/2 years later. Hope to stay that way for a long time.

I would go for the second phrase, the one with the date in it.

I got a money clip for being in a wedding many years ago that had the date on it....I have long since moved away and lost touch but that little clip keeps them in my memory.

I plan on sending them a 30th anniversary gift when that date rolls around.

The clip is very simple, it had my initials, their first names and the date.

i'll back danny on this one. i wouldn't do anything funny. just sincere and simple.

I have mine coming up in a few months. I paid for the tuxes for all and am getting them some nice LED lighted pocket knives (which I know I would use if I had it). A friend gave me a 4 "D" cell maximag light years ago with the dates and initials engraved on the end cap. Still have it and use it to this day.

Thanks for the input guys! I would have paid for everyone's tuxes but we're looking at a 400 guest wedding. It's REALLY DAMN EXPENSIVE.
I ended up going with an alteration of the 2nd choice. They will read:

John Doe - Groomsman
The Kozy Wedding - 9/12/09
