I am running up to Flint Mi. in the morning. Running up on my Max then I am grabbing a truck and loading my bike and running back.

You will not be too-far from Lapeer, home of Jay Springsteen, a famous MI racing legend! Along with Black Bart Markel. The area where you are going is pretty, MI has lots of scenic countryside and while Flint is economically-devastated, (see Roger and Me) you will enjoy the trip.

+1! I camped at Metamora-Hadley Recreation Area as well as the Holly Recreation area and the scenery is very nice. Drove through Lapeer as well as Flint to pick up supplies. Met a lot of nice folks on those camping trips, including a park ranger who stood by the entrance gate waiting for us to arrive after a booking snafu found us with no vacancy at our intended destination. Not only did he wait but he escorted us to our site at 10pm in a thunderstorm and lit up the area so we could make camp. Got to go back soon!

I got in Flint around 12 30 and was back on the road by 1 30. I drove all morning on the bike to get there, no wasted time. Loaded the bike on the back of a new 2012 chevy flat bed truck and hauled back to Ky. Got to the chevy dealership at 930 last night. I was home just after midnight.

WOW Paul .... that's some road trip ! Sounds like the Vmax was flawless in your trip north. What dealership did you get your Chevy truck at ... was it AppleGate's ; one of the oldest Chevey dealerships in Michigan ?
I'm an hour north of Flint, but couldn't make it down to see you. Will have to catch up with you at Thunder ! :eusa_dance:
