I seems someone posted in here somewhere the myth where in the beginning one in four V-Max owners were killed riding these things............................Gotta love the rumor mill....................:punk:

I've heard that applied to the 750 2-stroke triples from the 70's....the Kawasaki's and those Suzuki "water buffalos".

Let's make up a totally bogus rumor and see if we can get it to catch on...uhh....hmmm....oh I got it....

"1 in 4 Harley riders experience major drivetrain problems before 20k miles"

Oh wait, that's pretty likely. Let's try again.

"I heard 2 out of 3 vmax riders have experienced major head shake, and the third person is dead"

DAMMIT! I'm no good at this.

Bigfoot rides a Vmax, thats why they aint found him yet.

Vboost was really a product of reverse engineering from the parts that were picked up from the Roswell crash site.

This is pretty funny since I have an Ultra Classic that I have to pick up tomorrow not really the bikes fault though. The guy thought it would be cool to drop the clutch at 4,000 RPM needles to say he has a 2 piece drive belt now.LOL

The one I did hear was "those bikes will just tip over in a turn because they are top heavy, they're only good in a straight line". Most myths originate from people that never rode a Max.

I don't know, that one seems partly right. :)

"God rides a VMax".
I have this one on good authority. My pastor told me.
According to him, God also drives a 1959 Morris Minor. (Pastor's got one of them - Coincidence?)

Sort of reminds me of a pastor I once has who rebuilt old air-cooler VWs in his garage.
This also remind me of all the clips I have seen over various bike powered Rover Minis out there.

I heard a few of these same post about the Max over the years also. The one I always here alot are they were to powerful and killing a lot of riders. So after the 89 model they slowed them down a little. I just think maybe cops were getting pissed because they could not catch them on the open road....haha. I just love to listen to everyone talk about how awesome the Vmax is.

It happened to me today. I was helping a kid jump start a 250 Ninja and a car rolled up and asked. " What year is that bike? Do they still make em'?" When I told him it was an '01 he responded with the ever popular " I heard they outlawed those"
(Huge smile under my breath).
The kids on 250 Ninjas didn't know a V-max from a Vienna Sausage, but I was happy to help and they were gracious and thankful.
I meet more nice people in North Dakota :)

I agree with hearing the Max was detuned after the 1st yr. I was convinced. As far as the rad like a spoiler, lifting the frt at 155, naw. But I can say the frt end of a XJ700X Maxim X will start to rise at 135. Never could go past it. Should of found a day and had a back draft of 30+ mph. I know that bike had 140 in it.
