I'm Michael, a retired geologist, 68, living in Eureka, Nevada. Been riding dirt-bikes since '70 and street bikes since '75. Bought 2005 Limited Edition VMAX #886 in January, and with the help of this site, spent the winter performing maintenance and detailing. It's a clean, entirely stock, roadworthy bike and I like it a lot. But it's not the right bike for this area! Should have done my homework on VMAX's! Because after replacing the low fuel sensor (what a task that was), the low fuel light comes on at 90 to 95 miles just puttering around town, with occasional 1/2 mile runs down Highway 50. The next nearest town is 80 miles of desolate highway and I don't think I can reach it running at highway speed. I'd like to sell this bike now, tomorrow I will post the details.
