The .458 Socom set up for the AR platform looks formidable too. It's the modern day 45-70, used to hunt buffalo at one time. A 500-600 grain hunk of bullet at close range? Would a wad cutter tip feed...lol You never know when a Sasquatch will attach. I wouldn't want to get hit with that baby. The energy is incredible. Makes a .223 look like a bee bee.

I was thinking of a bonded core 500gr hollowpoint with a pure aluminum jacket. Make the nose out of pure lead, and the base out of Linotype. That will ruin any intruder's day. Hit like a 12 gauge slug!

Ahhhhhh, another connoisseur of high end big bore single actions.

I love big bores, but I really wouldn't want to go bigger than the 475L. I prefer the lines of the standard length cylinders, although the guns built on the old 357 maximum frames look nice. The long stretch frames (i.e. BFR in 45-70) just look goofy, and the Smith X frames should either come with a crew or a caisson to help move it around.

When it comes time to get mine done, it will be heading out to Jack Huntington for his treatment.

While I prefer double action revolvers normally, the craftsmanship that Mr. Bowen puts into his guns is simply perfect. (generally, considerably better than Mr. Limbaugh even)

That penny trick is how I taught fellow Marines trigger control when sent to the range as a Range Coach. Granted, it is easier to do with a rifle than a handgun lol
