Well since I have both in my garage I can compare the brakes on an 02 Max and an 09 Streetglide. Both are stock except for replacing pads and both work well but I have more confidence in the HD's brakes than the Max. Although I did just replace the rear cylinder on the Max so it does work a lot better. However on both bikes I primarily use the front brakes. The Harley still has the original rear brakes and the second set of fronts with +25K on it.
On a separate note my buddies brake light switch on his 2010 Ultra went bad and he lost 90% of his rear brakes. Went in twice before they found the problem 2 mos ago and now that's exactly what's being recalled.
