Decided to put a new battery in the '09 that I had bought years ago...Shorai Lithium Ion, like in all of my bikes, and stumbled across this little 'gem' on the main harness as I was moving the ECU out of the way:

I haven't started tracing anything yet and the bike runs fine, so I don't know if this was something commonly done after a 'Nash Flash', although I've never seen mention of having to cut wires, or the Power Commander install, which is what that 'janky ass' red wire all curled around is for, or some other who knows what.
Looking at the Service Manual I haven't found anything that jumps out and I'll get a better look at them today but figured someone might have an idea without my having to chase wires.
Hate when people hack harnesses like that...you can do it right or you can take wire cutters to it, guess what the PO did.
