Just heard on the radio. (Buffalo NY area) Average temperature for Feburary so far is 11 degrees. Hasn't been above 32 degrees and won't be for the month of feburary. The snow banks in my driveway are above what my snow blower throws.:bang head: The good news is I'm going to Florida today. Picking up a car I bought from a 90 yr old lady from the NY area. Literally the little old lady, that drove the car to Church on sundays. It's a 96 Lincoln town car. 127,000 miles. florida perfect (no rust). Paid $1000. Besides getting away from this arctic weather, I get to hit the plant city strawberry festival. I'll have a big ole strawberry shortcake for all you northern boys:eusa_dance:

Lincoln and Cadillac, the rides of organized crime back in the day.

Enjoy the FL weather. Be sure you check the coolant system, I'd throw on new hoses, radiator cap, and coolant before making the trip back, and check the freeze plugs and heater hoses, water pump and the heater core function, and defroster. Tires and brake fluid and pad material, too. I was given a 1970 Eldorado (500 c.i.; 400 HP, 475 ft.lb torque) by a neighbor years ago, bought new by his dad, 48K miles, but it took (then) over $1K to make it road-worthy though he put <2K mi/year on it while he had it. I sold it to my friend who worked at the GM Tech Center in Warren MI as a stylist. One of his co-workers was on the team that designed that and the Toronado, the most-powerful front-wheel drive cars at the time.

I just got back from SW MI where the temp was single digits or teens until my last day when it got close to 30. Lotta snow, been awhile since I drove on snow.

If it's never been rustproofed do it before you get back up here in the north! My truck is from Kentucky and not rustproofed which now I'm kicking myself for not getting done!
Temps here we've had 20* or better only 6 days this month while the coldest days have been -10 or lower of 12 days with 3 of those in the -20* range (all before wind chill). 16 of the 25 days we had snowfall and are at almost 150" snowfall for the year according to NOAA.

She drove it enough to keep everything working well. She told me about all the maintainence that had been done. I did have to put a battery in in. My step father has been using it a bit, to look for any issues. Hes in Zephyrhills.

I'm a big "olds" fan. I've had several cutlass's, 442 and my dad had a toronado. I drove it a lot. Had the signature roll type speedometer.I never did it, but I always wanted to pull the motor on the toronado, and build it.

I know one issue I could have with the car. The squirter fluid in Florida usually isn't for freezing temps. I could get close to home, use the squirters and spray a nice layer of ice on my windshield. :eusa_dance:

This is not my car, nor the person in the video is me:eusa_dance:, but This is the same car (mine is executive series) I bought and brought back from Fla. Body is perfect, no dents or rust. My car is in better shape than this car and has 50 thousand less miles. I have cloth seats. I also have a chrome molding, Probably 8" wide, along the whole side of the car, from the door molding down. those are the differences that I noticed. It got 22 mpg the whole way. not bad for a grand. It's completely out of character for me to have a car like this, but i have to admit it's pretty nice. I was waiting to see my 16 yr old, newly driving, sons reaction. I was waiting for the "i'm not driving that" attitude. He asked if he could drive it to school today. I guess it does have some cool factor. Florida was a nice relief. It was a fridged 68. All the locals were bundled up. Strawberry fest was surreal. How you can go from 3 months of bitter winter, sit on a plane for 3 hrs and get off to your area's best spring day in June. I'm doing something wrong. I think I'm starting to develop snowbird wings:eusa_dance:

I have no idea why this is in yellow or under scored ???

Its yellow and underscored....because its part of the hyperlink of the video. Buster had said one time that the hyperlink for the video should "stop" after posting....but it doesnt, hence this result.
