Early 1985-'89 bikes have differences from later bikes, the ignition pick-up coils being one difference. The early bikes have 2 pick-up coils. They are in a 5 wire M-F connector. The 1990-;07 bikes all use a single ignition pick-up coil, w/a 2 wire M-F connector.
