Hello everyone so I'm trying to find the problem with my 1996 yamaha vmax, I got it from a guy who said there was an intake leak caused from bad intake boots I changed them out and still have a intake leak. I checked my rubber diaphragms and my needle jet but mot to sure what else too look for anyone have this similar issue. Any help is appreciated. I posted 2 videos to show one of the diaphragms and also a video on the bike running.

The VBoost intake manifolds, called carburetor joints 1 and 2 (parts # 1, 2) to cyl head has a thin O-ring (part #7) for each cyl. I've had those go bad. Replace all 4 w/new ones & not just the 1 you find leaking. You have to remove the VBoost manifold together, so you should replace all the O-rings at once. I often use water soluble jelly like KY to hold gaskets and O-rings in position while I do an installation.

Spray starter spray-can fluid around the intakes to locate any leaks, The RPM's will increase as the starting fluid is sucked-in. Try both upper & lower rubber boots and the cast-aluminum carburetor joints 1 & 2. Note there are two carburetor joints 1 and 2!

FYI: rubber boots from the air filter box to the carburetor bellmouths and from the bottom of the carburetors to the carburetor joints (parts # 1,2) often develop surface cracks which do-not go through the thick rubber of the rubber boots.
That would become evident by spraying each of the rubber boots and NOT having an increase in RPM"s.
