Sorry for the dumb question but when installing this system is the cat removed from the vmax. Thank you

Thanks Itgoes. I’ll be placing my order today or Monday.
Any tips or tricks on the install?

I hope my question isn't dumb ;)......but you are aware that you'll need 2 mufflers as well? The Hindle pipe will not fit the stock cans.

As far as the install goes taking the cat off is the usually the trickiest part. It's important that you completely loosen the front head pipes so that they are only attached by a couple of threads. That gives you enough leeway to move the cat around and allow it to release.

I found these tools extremely helpful when working on a Gen 2 exhaust:

They allow you to get to the rear bolts on exhaust without much cursing.

You should also use a little copper RTV on all the slip joints to prevent any leaks:

Thank you. Are the Allen bolts on the exhaust standard or metric?
