more than likely due to the 'snapping frame' i've heard about, there was a mass reacall or something??
But I do know from a previous read up on vmax history the '85 was the best selling jap bike of that year even knocking the cb750 (think that was the bike) off its mantle!
nobody mentioned '92 :tantrum: anybody else have one?? I haven't even seen another for sale!!!
maybe not so much '92's as the '93 came with a few new parts
ok this has nothing to do with how many there are, but maybe how many 85's are left. I cannot confirm this but it my be just folk lore too! I recently heard this trivia that in 85' that 50+% of all vmaxes purchased that year , the riders were killed on them! bad subject I know ,but if it is true might make the 85's worth even more!

Well, simple way to get an idea is to look at the vin numbers on some of the 2007's. Any guys with 07's out there want to share the last numbers of your vins??
Sean
My 2007 Max`s last four numbers are 1785.
And still, we don’t really know how many were built. We can make educated guesses based on serial numbers for given years, but production numbers are very elusive.
Too bad Japan didn’t Publish production records the way Detroit did in the musclecar era. They can even tell you how many ‘71 Chevelle’s had the 3/4” paint run on the firewall under the brake master cylinder. And which of those were Fathom Green.
Interesting news. I looked at my '07 and it was built in 06/07 last 4 digits is 1930. It is very original and runs great! 11k miles.Since this posting years ago I had in possibly one of the last gen 1's ever made. Production date was June 07 which is the last month for that model year. The last 4 of the vin was 1932
