My friends Cobalt SS came with a factory supercharger. It's stock, and friggin quick! If he doesn't like the 305, he could always put a 350 in it....If I am correct, I think everything bolts right up.

It has a 350 in it it has been bored .030 over if anything make into a stroker engine by putting in a 400 crank :punk: It has nice heads on its camed new racing ingnition, new 350 turbo trans, stall converter, stanless exhuast, headers, roller rockers and lifters,ect... I dont like tha fact it has a edelbrock carb those are junk as far as I am concerned. I still have to look it over get hands on so to speak and bring a magnet not into bondo buggies those weak frig magnet work great just the slightest bondo and they dont stick on. strong enought to stick through paint thats about it. I belive he said it dynoed at 360hp not sure will know more after I see it. Chevy horsepower is cheap does not take much to make a 500+ hp motor. My malibu I had dynoed at 500+ at the rear wheels I had some money into the motor but not much maybe a 1,000 thats all not bad for a 327. I know what will happen though if i do get it see pics below monkey mods are a *****:bang head:

Since it has roughly double it's original horsepower, that sweetens the deal up a bit. Still, I don't know that anything short of an honest to goodness supercar would compete with the Max for sheer driving enjoyment.

You're right, it is a pretty good toss-up. How confident are you that the wife would "get over it"?

And apparently the "SS" cobalt puts out either 170, 200, or 260 hp depending on which "SS" it actually is, since maybe GM finally got the picture that 170 horsepower does not count as super sport. Still, at least from what I've experienced the cobalt is a total POS car. I've driven a bottom of the line one and it was an absolute rattletrap, even brand new. On-ramps to the highway required flooring it, and my foot was dangerously close to the floor on even the slightest grade. Handled like poo-poo and just the overall interior quality was pathetic. Everything you touched felt like it would snap off....overall extremely "cheap" feeling.
