*** The Will To Win...

Unless you are willing to be as unreasonable and as brutal, as your enemy, do not engage him in a conflict -- because he will win.* This old leatherneck says it better.*
*
Quote from a WWII veteran overhearing someone say that “You can't bomb an ideology.":*
"The hell you can't, because we did it. These Muslims are no different than the [Imperial] Japanese. The Japs had their suicide bombers too. And we stopped them. What it takes is the resolve and will to use a level of brutality and violence that your generations can't stomach. And until you can, this **** won't stop. It took us on the beaches with bullets, clearing out caves with flame throwers, and men like Lemay burning down their cities, killing people by the tens of thousands. And then it took 2 atom bombs on top of it.* Plus we had to bomb the **** out of German cities to get them to quit fighting. But, if that was what it took to win, we were willing to do it. Until you are willing to do the same...well I hope you enjoy this ****, because it ain't going to stop!" Back then, we had leadership, resolve, resources and determination. Today we're afraid to hurt people's feelings....and worry about which bathroom to piss in!!!

Since WWII we have fought wars or conflicts or police actions and a lot of Americans have died for What? Political Correctness? You don't take Diplomacy to a Gun Fight and expect to win, Do You?????:confused2:

Most American, Including myself, have no Idea of the brutality and horror associated with an enemy that has no respect for the lives of woman, children or themselves, and are used as weapons. Kill or be killed.

Can't really compare the conflict with Japan with what we are dealing with now IMO.

Two completely different type of enemies.

The Muslim extremest's will not surrender and lay down their arms or sign a peace treaty. We will need to be diligent forever to keep them in check.

As much heat as the current administration takes for letting ISIS spawn in the middle east, they have done an amazing, albeit it expensive job of diminishing them.

FIFTY THOUSAND ISIS killed on the battlefield. FIVE U.S. Soldiers killed. Incredible when you think about it!

We absolutely have to have "Good Muslim's" to help us find the radical elements and kill them. Without that help, We will ultimately LOSE the fight.... Is this even possible??????????????

The Japanese during WWII were much the same, even the civilians were prepared to fight every US soldier with whatever they had. They were prepared to die before allowing defeat. The suicide bombers were a last ditch effort when their aircraft were no longer able to stand against our new fighters. This is why the atomic bombs were ultimately used. It was a choice of fighting every single Japanese soldier and civilian at a cost of easily millions upon millions in a long drawn-out affair, or attempt to end it showing how simply it would be to eradicate them (never mind that we had no more atomic bombs after Nagasaki - they didn't know this).

The difference between now and then is the Terrorists (be they ISIS, Boko Haram, Hesbollah, Al -Queda, Taliban, etc...) hide in various locations, making it difficult to 'nuke them'.

Neither the Japanese nor the terrorists were open to diplomacy, and neither group was/is willing to back down. Talking won't stop them. Giving them what they want won't stop them, because we are the infidels, we don't believe what they believe, and won't change to their line of thinking. They won't stop until everyone else is dead. That's very hard to combat when they hide like rats.

I wish I (or anyone) knew of an answer. I don't know what method could end this kind of thing other than mass sweeps using completely overpowering military might, the kind that would almost assuredly result in the loss of innocent life. But that's why they survive, hiding behind the innocent. A massive military invasion of that nature would be incredibly difficult to do even without all the 'let's find common ground and hug it out' people who would rather combat their own people than fight against an enemy that wants to see them dead. Some people refuse to see reality, some people simply can't.

:bang head:
