WHEN I WAS OUT ON MY BUDDIES RACE BOAT THE OTHER DAY , DOWN HERE IN FLORIDA , WE WERE GOING THREW THE INNER COASTAL WATER WAYS AND I NOTICED THAT ALL OF THE MARINAS , AT THE FUEL DOCKS HAD SIGNS FLYING THAT SAID " NO ETHONAL " ! .. I WAS PSYCHED BECAUSE NOW I CAN BRING MY GAS CANS AND GET FUEL AT THE MARINAS FOR MY V-MAX ! .. :punk: . THEN ON THE WAY HOME , NOT 10 MILES FROM MY NEW HOUSE MY BUDDY SAYS , " THERES THE SUNOCO I WAS TELLING YOU ABOUT THAT SELLS THE CAM2 RACE FUEL " . . NEEDLESS TO SAY , I COULDN'T GET THE SMILE OFF MY FACE ! . :biglaugh:

haha the favorite topic of Tim :p
I tried some local pure fuel (no ethanol) rated 100.
I switched back to the regular unleaded tho.
I noticed the bike was running smoother but didn't develop as much torque as usual.
The higher the RPM were going the higher the difference feeling was.
The v-boost kick in was not as impressive.
I guess it can be due to delayed ignition due to the high octane rate which will be more suitable to injection bikes.

After saying that, i'm sure than fuel even though it's a performance one might be quite different from race fuel.

I use non-E simply for my carbs health . Marinas , even at small lakes tend to carry it. Their repair shed sometimes have 5-10 motors waiting for a carb re-build .

I use 93 with no ethanol and you can immediately feel more power and a smoother burn.

Also, you can immediately clock 10% more miles per gallon.

Better mileage is a hard core fact. If you want to know how it effects torque and horsepower you need to test the same bike with different gasoline on a dyno.

If anything, a motorcycle with fuel injection was built knowing that there would be 10% ethanol in the gasoline. Our bikes, that were built before ethanol creeped it's ugly little head into our fuel pumps, were not made to run on ethanol.

your wasting your money coprunner if you think running race gas is helping you, have you done mods to the motor, is it a race bike or something you drive? i like the non E fuel but seriously, sunoco race gas, we only use that in our pro street drag car, if you know what that is......

It should all be "NON-ETHANOL" far as I'm concerned... Ethanol Sucks...

All I can get right now is 90 Octane but regular will return soon. It's been months...

On a stock engine with only 10.5:1 compression race gas won't dramatically increase HP but if you have a dyna with the advance up then you might make some more torque. I don't buy that it will make you loose HP though, never once have I actually seen that happen. If i could get pure gas for mine I'd definately run it though.

On the contrary, you'll lose HP. This gets brought up again and again and the simple fact is an engine makes the most possible power using the lowest octane fuel that doesn't detonate. Octane is a combustion retardant. It makes the gas less volatile.

The vaporized mix is at it's most potent the instant before it would detonate on it's own from pressure, or pre-ignition. Knock, ping, whatever you want to call it. More octane means more pressure is required to achieve that "most volatile" state. If your engine wasn't designed for it, the fuel being sparked will not be as potent as if you were running regular 87. Save enough money for a beer or two at the end of a day's ride, and get the most from the motor. Fill up with "regular" 87. All I use, motor's never knocked or pinged, and I can attest to that even holding it WOT at 140+ for minutes at a time.

A "smoother" feel on high octane is likely due to the fact the engine isn't making as much power......

Don't expect the ethanol-free at marinas to last long though. We used to carry it, our supplier got it trucked down from Canada, but I guess in NY laws were passed or something that banned that, so now we're pumping the same e10 bullshit as everywhere else. Carb jobs, tank replacements, and fuel line issues have probably doubled since then.

i . NOW YOU GUYS NO I'M NOT DEBATING THIS ISSUE AGAIN , I SIMPLY MENTIONED THE NON-ETHANOL FUEL FOR MY CARBURETORS ON MY V-MAX , AS FAR AS THE RACE FUEL , I WILL RUN THAT IN ANYTHING I WANT BECAUSE , I HAVE RUN THAT ISSUE THREW MY HEAD TIME AND TIME AGAIN AS I'M POLISHING ALL OF MY TROPHY'S ! . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . .. . . SO EVEN IF ITS JUST " PSYCHOLOGICAL " , IT STILL WORKS , AND IS WORTH EVERY PENNY TO ME ! .. :biglaugh::rofl_200::biglaugh::rofl_200::biglaugh:

hahahah come on man, lets see how far this thread goes..... hahahah:rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

buddy just came back from lake george car show last weekend, filled the back of the truck with cases of cherry pepsi and 5gallon cans of vp race fuel.... time to pay him a visit hehehe

I like to run race gas for one tank...then the muffler soaks the smell up and smells like it every time you WOT for MONTHS!

I know it doesnt really do anything but I was getting Sunoco 110 for $5 a gallon. The smile on my friends faces as their eyes watered behind me was worth every penny.

hahaha CR you will never be able to keep a straight thread going, you could have talked about curing world famine but if you mention using race fuel hahaha well thats what we all talk about.

"NO CR race fuel wont make bla bla bla bla" but who cares about the cure you found :rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

your doomed man, better to just talk about the cool place you found NON E10 fuel for the beast.

wait this thread is about non race fuel right? :ummm::rofl_200::rofl_200:

RA, I'm not flaming you or trying to be a dick but have you personally witnessed dyno pulls or had high octane fuel slow you down at the race track? I've debated this with people locally before but I've never once seen it reduce HP or actually slow anyone down. I will agree there is a point where you will not gain anymore HP or torque off of it, thus making it kind of a waste of $$ but in all my experience it has never slowed anyone down. I agree this thread wasn't about race gas but rather non ethenol gas but i was just trying to make a point.

i PERSONALLY I WOULD BUY RACE FUEL WITHOUT ETHANOL IN IT REGARDLESS OF THE PRICE IF GIVING THE OPPORTUNITY , LONG BEFORE I WOULD RUN PUMP GAS WITH ETHANOL IN IT JUST BECAUSE IT WONT FUCK-UP MY CARBS ! ... PS. THERE ARE RACE FUELS WITH ETHANOL IN THEM ALSO !
