I got a pair of 1st gear gloves last Christmas. Even not plugged in they're warm as tost. I only plug them in if off to BRC, a good ride from the Cape.Oce you have the control, vest, socks, all can be plugged in. i've never been cold with tourmaster riding pants with the liners in. Dry road, I roll.

I put a quick release windshield on for $70 (spitfire) and got a pair of these to put under my riding gloves.

They work great as liners. Beyond that it's just layers. Shirt, long sleeve shirt, hoody, riding jacket.

I'm toasty down to about 30 before I need to add in long underwear and a carhart bib for the legs.

This setup served me well for about an hour tonight in the low 30's. Those gloves under a decent pair of gauntlets are seriously the best $10 I've spent in a long time. I used to have 3 layers on and still have my fingers go numb, but not anymore. They don't do as well as electric obviously but if you don't have $100 to drop on electric liners they're the next best thing.

$10 is quite a deal! I only need my hands warm when I'm riding to work at 5am, when I get off work its mid 70s.

I ran into this problem this past summer when I got stuck with the night shift....I'd go into work at 9pm (easily in the 70's, no problem), and then have to ride home at 5am(often in the mid 40's). I'd freeze my nuts off going home, especially since with all the peaks/valleys around here it's very common to get foggy/misty mornings.

I normally use Fox MX gloves on the bike as well, which are fine down to the low 60's. I have a pair of insulated/waterproof hi-viz gloves for work, got them at a work wear/safety store for like $30. Youngstown....I think? They're quite warm and wind doesn't penetrate them....after 45min of highway speeds in the 40's my hands would be a bit chilly but not bad.

I'd snap in the windproof liner of my mesh jacket(which otherwise has absolutely zero warmth factor), and wear a hoodie underneath....that usually worked well.

So a small backpack with a hoodie, the jacket liner, and heavier gloves sufficed for me. I've never had the bike out in near or sub freezing temps....don't want to worry about black ice with only two wheels.
