I know it is specifically built to set the 1/4 on fire, but I wonder what it would be like to live with it every day. At any rate it's nice to see something so badass made in the USA.

My kids friend has a hellcat. I think he's 20. Burned the clutch out of it in 3000 miles. Dealer replaced clutch under warranty. Still waiting to take it for a spin.

There are several dealers across the country selling supercharged Mustangs for around 40K. The less radically boosted ones even come with a full warranty. They will even build a convertible for you.

Hard to beat that bang for the buck.

Or you can buy a base GT for well under 30K and bolt a Procharger on it. A guy I know in Florida did that and is running 9.90's in the 1/4 with a car that looks completely stock and even has the stock exhaust on it!

This truly is the best time for performance. Cars of today can do it all, and come with a warranty, good in a straight line, and around curves.

There's a business I've patronized in the past when I had 3 Fox-bodied Mustangs. It's just down the road from my work. They've been building some great cars since 1988, and offer parts for Fords other than Mustangs. Here's one of their cars running at a local Palm Beach County track: https://www.steedablog.com/2017/03/...secr-enduro-palm-beach-international-raceway/

Fancy a new Steeda? Stop in an Autonation. https://www.steedablog.com/2017/03/...dealerships-sell-steeda-performance-vehicles/

There's something for everyone these days, and while the days of shade tree mechanics are probably over, the cars are better for it.

I too am a Mustang guy but I respect that Dodge immensely. I am happy that America is making bad *** brutes like this! Jethro, my son's Mustang has a "Burnout Mode" selectable from his Navigation screen that locks the brakes to perform a burnout. This cracks me up that Ford would encourage this and still warranty the damage caused by it. Good for them! I am just waiting on Ford's official answer to the Demon. Chevy already has the "Exorcist" Camaro. I know Roush has a P-51 Mustang that is supposed to be fast as hell but as for brute HP, the "Exorcist" has it in spades.

Back when Shelby was still alive, they had an 1100 HP Shelby but it was never mass produced, I bet you see that get dusted off real soon ;)

My 05 GT is going to get a Hellion Turbo soon. This will raise the RWHP to around 450.
I've seen too many Mustang's go out of control with over 500 RWHP. Too small and light
with too much HP and TQ.

I have a close friend who just bought a 2017 GT350, he's looking at doing twin turbo set up for right at 1,200 HP. Hope he's a good driver because it would kill me to lose him.
