Hi all! Happy to be here. I'm not currently an owner of a Vmax, but I can see it in the near future. When I was younger my dad bought a brand new 1986 Vmax. I've been a fan since but I had to go through my sport bike phase first. Now that I am older and wiser, I am ready to get something where I don't have to lean over the handlebars on.

I found on Marketplace a '85 w/33k. He's done a fair amount of upgrades. Shocks, clutch, and brakes. As well as a few cosmetic things like LED headlights and whatnot. The one thing he does mention is that 2nd gear is starting to act up as of recently. I've done my research and see this is a common occurrence. Aside from the 2nd gear issue, is $1500 reasonable?

Welcome to the Forum. I charge $ 2500 to fix 2nd gear with an undercut transmission and I am probably one of the cheaper ones. If you can't do it yourself I would not really advise buying a broken one.
