I have not installed them yet. I can triple check...for my own piece of mind. But yes,120. Will that cause a rich idle?
If i understand correctly, these flow air, not fuel. At idle, smaller paj2 will mean richer mixture. At idle... Which will also effect the whole throttle range to some extent.

If so, this explains the unburnt fuel smell in the exhaust at idle. My mixture screws never leaned it out, definitely never came close to stalling even bottomed out.

PAJ#2, controls air just off idle, and all the way thru after that. So, you would be running richer, off idle, until redline. But you could be running so rich, that at idle its still trying to burn the excess fuel.

So put in some 170's, and that should help a lot.

PAJ#1 controls the air at idle. Thats why Cali bikes have a different PAJ#1, than the other 49 state set up.

Don't take the cables off of the carbs- take them apart on the long clear and black rectangle box under your left scoop.Paj 2 is 170Yes you are rich if the Paj2 is 120
+1
No need to remove the cables from the carb. MUCH easier to take apart the junction block under the left scoop.

Took it out today for the first time since I found my mistakes. She's back to her old self. The power is back. Need to get used to the shift light lighting up so quickly. Even in 5th. Found myself at 10k in every gear before i realized it. Even stood it up a bit 1-2 shift. Hell, I think it pulls harder than 2 summers ago before I got into the carbs. Ordered 170s to replace my 120 paj2s today as well.
So, leaner truly is meaner.
Hopefully my next post in this thread will be.... No more unburned fuel stink at idle and my mixture screws actually make a difference.

Thank you guys for sharing your knowledge!

Also... I learned again that tbe devil is in the details. Can't believe I screwed up the spring placement in one of the diaphragm covers. I love my bike again (but I still want a concours 14).
