Another animal that is larger than you might think is a full grown male Bison. Was riding my 95 Max thru a wildlife preserve in Oklahoma a few years back and was almost run over by a calf that decided to cross the road. It was just a baby but was still bigger than my Max and me combined. The adult males are just huge!!

As I was looking at those pics I couldn't help thinking what a wrong time to find out you had locked your keys in the truck.

Wichita Mountains? I've come through there a few times and had to avoid hitting either longhorns or bison. Kinda gets your heart pumpin to come out of a sweeper only to see one big animal straight in front of ya.

That was the place. Camped out there in 2000 and ate at a vintage diner in Cash that had really cheap comfort food. The highest item on the menu was under $3. I think coffee was .79 a cup. I felt like I was in the "Twilight Zone". They had a specialty dish that my friend loved. It was an "Indian Taco". I was afraid to eat it as it was scary looking...

My friend and I were both on Maxes. His a 97 and mine a 95 (since replaced by a 97). He still has his (Sean recently replaced his motor as he is the guy that dropped the valve).

If you ever make it back up there is a burger place in Meers just outside the wildlife preserve that you should try. They have their own herd of longhorn cattle that they use for the meat. They have been voted the best burgers in the state several times. They also have their brand of beer that's pretty good.
