I did lower mine with shorter rear schock, but i realy like the of anfle schock your way done
Regards

Jinks, what is this telepost material? I am getting ready to lower my 03 by the same method.

I'm not sure......but its tough to work with. Youll find , drilling , shaping and filling hard on the tools and your hands, LOL I guess if they hold up a House,..they should hold a couple of shocks.

I took my tires off to get new ones installed. Taking the Rear off with the lowering plates did NOT create any difficulty .Did not have to remove them.
THE MESSUREMENTS OF THE PLATES- 6inch long 3 1/2 wide by 1/8 thick.

These are the templates I will send to anyone who is interested, just PM me with your mailing addess and I will stuff them in an envelope and get em off to ya. feel free to modify the shape but not the Hole spacings. It will give you a 3 inch drop and the proper clearance. I did NOT lower the front end on my bike.

Sorry, Mr.Jinks, I kinda been messin' wit ya...only because I couldn't find the right original post! ( I'm not good with the tech stuff)
But anyway - follow this thread, it's where I got my inspiration to try the lowering links. My alteration was to replace the lower bolt studs with bolts, to avoid removing the shocks completely. It's worked out dandy for me, since I often have bags and bag mounts fitted, meaning I can't get at the upper shock nuts easily, to remove the complete shock. Removing the lower bolts allows you to only have to swing the shocks upward , to allow the swingarm to drop down.
the "meat and potatoes" start at post #27........
Cheers!

Talk to Buster, he might let you get the old account back if it is of interest.

If there is interest I could probably get these lazer cut and prewelded up and ready. Won't be as cheap as doing the work yourself but cheaper then a pair of shocks.

wow , good on you ! This will save "short" riders a lot of time and effort ! A 15minute job at best. fantastic offer.

That is only if you wanted to share what you've made. I won't do it otherwise and profit from your idea.

There is an old post with template dimensions on the forum somewhere. I'll take a look, I usually save stuff like that. Not to take away from the excellent contribution you made jinks. It's always good to have different samples.

Read post #30, 31, of this thread, Steve.
Seems Mr.Jinks had a past alter-ego,(Ripinroarin) of which he has now been re-introduced. Lost memories, threads and posts are flooding back into his being.
Kinda like an episode of The Outer limits, but maybe not so bizarre.
Cheers!

The Outer Limits? Miles you're showing your age! Joseph Distefano, I still recall the guy's name. The producer. They had great creatures & the stories were usually a message about some current topic.
