Hello everyone,
I have my water pump that failed a while ago, because of the mechanical seal. 31 years on duty, can't blame it, it was dripping coolant from the small hole.
I've put everything apart, and ordered all the seals I need from Yamaha.
But i can't manage to extract the old mechanical seal from the pump. No problem for the bearing, the propeller, the circlips and the coolant elbow, but this guy seems stuck in his place.
I tried to use a mallet and a socket on it to pull it apart, an extractor, even tried to heat it...nothing happens, but I don't want to put too much force on it.
How did you done it ? I've read some posts about the replacement, but no one seems to have it stuck like mine.
Thanks !
