Yup, it is just slightly lopsided ...

Hummmm....maybe this is why Obama doesn't want to put ballots in the hands of our military......and might have something to do with putting deep cuts in military benefits in his plan to cut the deficit...

And More Reason Why!!!!!!

Head of AFRICOM Fired for Wanting to Assist Personnel in Benghazi - October 28, 2012

Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta announced on Sunday that General Carter Ham, Commander of GOC Africa Command (Africom), headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany has been relieved of his assignment for refusing to obey orders not to assist the US personnel in Benghazi on the night of September 11.

Army General David Rodriguez has been appointed by President Obama to replace him. U.S. Africa Command is one of six unified geographic commands within the Department of Defense unified command structure.

Gen. Ham refused to take responsibility for the decision not to provide essential air coverage and other support for the beleaguered personnel at the Consulate. After the information was leaked last week that three urgent requests for support were denied to the Americans trapped in the Consulate and the Annex, President Barack Obama said on Sunday, “The minute I found out what was going on, I gave three very clear directives Number 1, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to.” According to the highly decorated, four-star General, Carter Ham, the President is lying.

The Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, another official, and two CIA assets and former NAVY SEALS disregarded repeated orders to stand down, and rescued several people from the burning Consulate under heavy fire.

They requested assistance at least three times and were summarily denied each time. They had AQ mortars painted with laser pointers and requested a C130 attack on the target or a missile strike with a F-22 or F-35. They had laid the groundwork for a military response that would create minimum collateral damage. In return for their heroism, their urgent requests were denied and they died defending America.

According to our sources, General Ham received copies of the e-mails that had been sent to the White House from Benghazi, requesting military support at the Consulate and the Annex after the attacks began. General Ham had a rapid response unit ready to deploy and communicated that to the Pentagon. He then received the order to stand down. His response to the Pentagon was essentially that he could not do that. Within a few minutes after sending that response, his second in command told General Ham that he was relieved of his command, effective immediately.

On Saturday, October 27, Panetta confirmed that General Ham had been relieved of his assignment.

Can't say I'm surprised. Pres Obama has never made it a secret that he is anti military.

Can't say I'm surprised. Pres Obama has never made it a secret that he is anti military.

He most certainly proved that with his actions , or lack of same , in Benghazi . He couldn't have done a worse service to America if he was a radical Muslim .

Obama wants a Military, but one that he controls completely. I watch the Homeland Security Training nearly every month. All he needs to do is put them in black uniforms with fancy badges, patches and high top black boots. The people I see are desperate for a job and would do anything to keep it. Most don't really have a clue which end of a gun goes bang when they start but instructors teach them quickly... Is this a good thing???:confused2:We need them but we also need a military that is equal in number and quality...

The Royal Guard ? Maybe for his safe passage once the people find out everything that's in O'Bama Care.

Both Snopes and TruthorFiction say that General Ham was not fired, but chose to retire as a normal course of time served in the armed forces. My personal take is that he may have decided to retire as a result of his revulsion over the order he was given to stand down, rather than render help to the Benghazi Consulate.

It's worth mentioning that Ron Paul got more donations from military active and retired than all the other republican presidential candidates combined up to the day of the Repub Nat'l Convention in Tampa

Your half right, he also got more donations than Obama and the democrats and all the other republican canidates (you know, the ones who threw him under the bus??) combined at that time... Kinda shows that the military knows things have to change from the way they are now too...

If you refuse a direct order , no matter how stupid or incompetent , you're going to be fired. You may have a hearing or trial later and be re-instated , but in the meantime , you're on vacation or in the stockade , or shot , or maybe be allowed to retire.

He didn't refuse the order, he did stand down. I was just speculating that he may have decided to retire rather than have to obey any future such orders.

What's sad is when soldiers are dishonorably discharged or court marshalled for refusing to follow an unconstitutional order. Oath Keepers are noble men and women, I have had the opportunity to meet many

I'm not a General, but put me down as a SUPPORTER of the Romney Campaign. I'm sick and tired of seeing the USA going BACKWARDS INSTEAD OF GOING FORWARD. We need our country back and a president who does not bow everytime a Muslim country leader walks by and kisses his hand, I MEAN *** my mistake................You see, I believe American taxpayers deserve better than to be used as ATM machines for radical Islamists who want to see Israeli and American citizens torn limb from limb and murdered.

Been a long time since I was in the Army (1965-1968) but the oath as I remember it goes something like this...

... swear to protect the constitution from enemies, foreign and domestic...

Nothing about protecting the president and his policies or any other politician...

Rather than cause a huge stink, Retiring a General Officer is the preferred method.... It's Still Being Fired Though...

Had Democrat Reps in the neighborhood today, Sunday. They saw me carrying stuff in when I got back from the range and didn't bother me..:confused2::rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

You'd be suprised of how many in the Air Force actually support Obama, but then again he says we're apart of the 47%.

All the former Air Force personel in my house favor the Mormon over the Muslim......just sayin....

My place of employment is also a voting place for this side of town. This morning, there was nearly no room for employees to park. There were also voters parking out in the lawn in three directions. Voter turnout is HEAVY. Heaviest I've witnessed in the 15 yrs I've worked here. I hope the vast majority of them feel the same as the former Air Force personel living in my home.

I agree with you but he still has his supporters. It confuses me since...

During the last 4 years, our retirements are/have been threatened (noobs in the future will probably end up with a reserve/guard type of 401k wait until you're 59 type deal), High Year Tenures Reduced for SrA-TSgts, and cuts to some of the incentive pay while deployed. Not to mention higher member Tri-Care costs etc...

But I expect him to win:bang head:
