lets see, I carry. I've been known to drink a beer while welding. It has to be beer, cause after a few shots, for some reason unbeknown to me acetylene, plastic bags and fire combine. I haven't seen who's doing it, but while striking a bead I've had a few go off behind me, (wonderful friends I have.)

But oh well, that would interfere with me going back to school this fall anyway.:confused2:

Nope.
Not right now. No one wants a new garage door right now, they just want their **** fixed as cheap as possible.

I am a strange boss though.
We all carry (except my secretary) and I don't care if they drink a couple of beers while welding **** up in the shop.
As long as my employees are happy, they're not leaving. They couldn't do this crap with another door company, and they know it.

That's awesome. Thats what I call taking care of your people. I bet those guy's love you to death. :thumbs up:

Things like that just reinforce my statement of people who wear ties for a living shouldn't make and decisions more important that what to order for lunch.

the reason they wear ties to work is so they can singe them up tight so sperm don't blow out of the top of their heads.

No M/C prejudice at my workplace. The owner of my company talked me into buying my own bike. He's a pretty nice guy to say the least. There are a few others that ride at work, two of em being the owners sons. The bosses spare M/C is parked inside our warehouse right now under cover.

As promised, I took the bike in to work today. Made a few stops at customers who I knew would appreciate it. Made a total of 4 sales calls today on the Max. I think it went over well & I had a great time riding on a beautiful day. No bitchin' yet from the boss lady, but she was very busy today and didn't have much to say about it. We'll see if the **** hits the fan next week.

I own the place.
Everyone except my secretary rides.

I consider it a gift. If an estimate comes up in Hot Springs or Mountain View, I have riders/workers begging to go there on their weekend off. The gas card is theirs for the trip, and they get to ride for free. They love it. It saves me gas in the work trucks, and I get to check jobs every once in a while myself.

I can understand suits not being "professional" on a bike, but we're construction workers. A tape measure and a happy employee can save me lots of gas money.:punk:

Hey I sale autoparts. Thats why I don't understand the no bike thing.
Not like I'm a lawyer or something. Seems it's the liability thing not the
professional thing. We are allowed to wear jeans and tennis shoes.
:ummm:

motorcycles dont carry pip coverage you car does...companys insurance dont want to foot the bill if something happens on companys time...do they offer you a car to take these sales trips ...economy is bad your lucky you still have a job...just roll with it

here's my 2 cents.....I USE to work for walmart (enough said, right?)
my store mgr HATES bikes ....so....when I rode to work in the summer, I had to park ALL THE WAY at the end of the parking lot where there are NO camera's!
EMPLOYEE PARKING he says....well.....what IF someone stole or knocked it over....hmmm?
he says "someone could steal your car or bang into it too"
I NEVER seen anyone pick up a car and load it on the back of a truck and take off with it in minutes!
PLUS.....let's see someone slice your seat on your car..... OR slice a tire (I don't carry a spare on my bike)
BTW....if you are a customer and anything happens to your vehicle in the parking lot....they'll pay for damages...employees aren't covered under the same thing.....we had to "suck it up"
so I say....well....what IF I decided to ride a bicycle to work?
hmmmm.....that's a different story....someone could steal that......
all in all.....some people have a hard-on for bikers and bikes..... maybe he just can't ride and is jealous!
If any ex-fellow walmart workers of mine cruises the forum and sees this....tell Matt he's a "BIG BALD *******"!

I was once denied rental of an apartment because I had a V Max. Doesn't sound like a place I would want to live in after I was told that. Do I smell lawsuit? :confused2:

thats a pretty standard practice in a store parking lot for employes not to park in front to save customer parking in the front..boss is just following the rules

I agree....but....he could have let me park it out back by tire lube like ALL other walmarts around here.... I could tell you numerous stories about him.... total control freak! (and ALWAYS blamed stuff on "WALMART POLICY")
B*LLSH*T!

No car offered. Now I have to drive my F250 Diesel or my toy an
81 Transam with a 350 crate motor. They pay 30 cents a mile so
hoped to drive the bike to save a few buck. Oh well , it is nice to
have the job just frustrating that companies are so controlling.
Next will they start only allow you to drive cars with abs, front
and side airbags ? How about cars that are regulated to 55 mph ?
Vaya con dios guys
