Sucks to go down, but if you have to do it I guess having a mattress helps! Whenever I see a mattress haphazardly died to the top of a car I don't go anywhere near it for that reason.

I like it when the people inside are reaching out the open windows w/their arms/hands on the mattress, as-if they could 'hold-onto' the mattress when it takes flight.

I recall reading about some idiot who put his child on-top of the mattress for the trip. It didn't end well.
