Since inheriting my bothers bike last month. So from sitting it on it, riding it only for a short spit. I really need to move my legs/feet. my brother was shorter the me. I am 5'11. really uncomfortable. I am starting to understand, see why these bikes are somewhat dangerous, crashes. Bc the way their legs, feet are. My clutch foot feels trapped on the peg and lever. My brother warned me, reading, hearing from other ppl. I really dont wanna spend $250+ for the extension kit. So I am thinking abt lowering the pegs.It says these are for gen 2. but will these pegs work on gen 1's? if not. is there another set that will? thanks.

I know there is alot of discussions abt this. read alot of this. some of the posts are kinda old.

Your options are to install forward controls or rear sets (which come from overseas). There are also adjustable foot pegs which you rotate to the position you like, those are total junk, I bought two different sets and returned them.

I am 6'2" and have a Corbin seat on my Vmax and that makes a big difference because the seat is taller and allows you sit back a bit more. I also installed Kuryakyn adapters and foot pegs. The adapters lower the pegs about 3/4".

I saw those. I might look in it. thank you.

In your earlier post (Brothers bike) it was suggested that the seat had been lowered - have you checked if that was the case?

The way that seat is it will force you to sit further forward that will cause the problems you mention.
Get it re-profiled with less of a dip from the fuel filler cover towards the faux tank. Not only will this reduce the bend at your knees but allow you to sit further back.

What kind of pegs did you put on?

The large ISO foot pegs do fit but look way to big and stick out too far. As far as the adapters are concerned, you have to file some of both brackets so they fit and are level (you can still go back to the original pegs though). You will also have to cut the spring for the left peg in half and "rebend" it to fit. The right spring will fit without modifications.

There are some posts around here recommending Buell pegs. I tried them (ordered the P/Ns mentioned), they do not fit at all, at least on my bike.

Oh well, another waste of my time....
see. He had 2. a 86 and this one(98). He modified one of the seats. Luckily he saved almost all the parts from the 86. So I swapped them out. i think the one now on is correct height. I don’t know what the oem height is on the seat. one of the seats was def modified. The one on now(pic).

I still need to do something with the pegs.

um. ”waste of time.” Um. ???????? what do you mean?

On order. Thanks.

I don't know what pegs you will use, here are some photos. I ended up with small Trident ISO pegs in black.
