Muslim School holidays in NYC

I don't have any issues with someone having freedom of religion. To each his own. That's in the constitution. But to honor them..... In a public School:confused2: Get rid of The Ten commandment, Christmas, Easter. Bring on the Muslim holy days. Maybe we can have a run a plane into a building day, or a saw your head off day:bang head:

The governor of Texas last year signed a bill called the " Christmas Bill " making it a law in Texas for schools to be able to celebrate religious holidays at public schools. Everyone was polarized about the law because of things like this.

It opens pandora's box for political/religious views to become issues in our kids schools.
Everyone thinks that their religion is the only one that matters and that is not only closed minded it is wrong on many levels.

Things like this open the door for bullying based on the differences of family values in public. How would we feel when our kid comes home from school crying because they were cut out of events and ridiculed for being different or even beaten and killed? This happened not too long ago in the United States. Im sure there are many of us on this site that remember the 50's and 60's when segregation of blacks and whites was ended in public schools and the riots and ignorance that spawned from it....

My point is lets step back and take a look at what we say here as a group as to not loose any good members based on prejudice. I am in no way condoning the hate that is being perpetrated on the world right now by terrorist factions. I am saying lets do what we can not to sink to their level We should rise above their ignorance. BOMB the hell out of the murdering terrorists, for what they have done is inexcusable.

But in reality if we jump on a bandwagon and make children feel fear of being at their schools in OUR country are we any better? . I personally think separation is prudent in public schools. I think religious views and ideals are better left to the privacy of an individuals home life not public schools.

The Christmas Holiday season was created to observe Jesus' birthday, whether or not it falls on the correct day. Are you saying no one should publicly celebrate Christmas any longer?

How about instead, anyone that has issues with it, or it's name, lobby their elected officials to get their own damn holiday to be set on whatever damn day they choose, and everyone can choose whether or not to celebrate it also in much the same way that no one is being forced to celebrate Christmas? A day off is a day off.

He!!, just to show I'm not prejudiced, I say we should add a Muslim holiday to the already long list of Federal holidays officially being observed. I nominate the day when Osama Bin whatshisname was killed. We should celebrate that day with dancing & singing in the streets in much the same fashion as Mardi Gras is held in New Orleans. Lots & lots of fire crackers and toy guns added to the always welcomed ****ie beads. Anyone offended by it, could receive a lighted 1/4 stick of dynamite up their aszz.

Prejudice, in all those definitions, refer to a "pre" before the facts idea. Then a little lower in the definition it uses the word unfounded. That's why I listed those events which are true and founded. My opinions/ attitude is based on fact and past actions and what is taught in the koran. To lump Mcviegh, or the baptist guy in is ridiculous. The baptist/catholic ideology doesn't teach or encourage murder and killing. The Koran does. Stoning, cutting off hands for stealing, decapitations, complete disrespect for women are happening every day, all based on sharia law. Are the muslims in the US more enlightened. Do They have a different holy book? Or is it because our laws prevent it. I have no hate for anyone, but I'm not gonna pet the dog that bit me. I'm going to honor the victims and my country before I cheerlead for An Ideology that wants us gone.

And I'll end with this. I in know way disrespected anyone with my posts. I stated facts that can easily be backed up.Take out religion, labels, titles. If it were a christian group. a buddhist group or a gang of lumber jacks from Alaska, I would have the same attitude. This has nothing to do with a disagreement about philosophy, race, being misunderstood, etc. It all has to do with a proven physical threat to me, my kids and the United States. The latest was a call to bomb major malls in America. Call me ignorant, fear mongering and hateful all you want. they made the threat, not me.The physical actions of this group have murdered and destroyed thousands lives and families in the United states, and around the world. They have stated there intentions to continue. The whole reason I even started this thread was, in my opinion, this is a huge slap in the face to the 911 victims and survivors.

This seems to be like the guy that kills the store clerk, during a robbery. They interview the mother and she tells everybody what a good boy he is. I see the murder, you see the good boy.This is a product of perception, and life experience. You always seem to bring it back to some kind of a racial or hate thing and that has absolutely nothing to do with any of it. I spend all kinds of time with muslims in my community. Just came from Sams club. Probably 25% of the shoppers are muslims with little kids. I'm not afraid, nor are my kids. I don't treat them any differently than anybody else. Like me, they're just living life. I said it in my first post. Don't care what religion or group you belong to, that's your choice, live and let live. But they didn't do that. Should the kids pay the price for the adults actions. That's something every individual parent has to decide before they join a group or take an action.

I think and correct me if I am wrong but based on your final statement prior to "thats funny" we are both saying the same thing. tothemax93 I am for the rights of children to live their lives in this country free of fear and reprisal no matter the actions of the people of ISIS or Al Qaeda or any other group be it The Army of God ( abortion Bombings ) the KKK the Iron Guard or any other faction of fear based religion.

Most of the violence in the world today is not based from anything other than religion and to me that is sad. Every religion speaks of tolerance and love but in order to prove that they have to have wars and murder people without care or concern to what they say. Your right that extremist say "death to the infidels" "Behead those who do not love Islam" Or the same thing from extremist Christian groups like " GOD HATE ****" or " SOLDIERS DESERVE TO DIE" or even more under laid tolerant but still hateful speak like " Muslims are worse than Nazis " ( Pat Robertson ) these things have no business in OUR KIDS schools. That is my one and only point.
