Under the tree, it was....eh? What a great present Ninj!! Now just wait patiently with the family for the festivities to subside....thinking all the while about getting out in the garage and putting those Mark's pipes on!! :rofl_200:

you know the situation, plain and clear. i prolly won't be able to get started until tomorrow morning. the anticipation is killing me :rofl_200:

Nija, your Xmas dreams will come true once you fire the Vmax up after your Marks Pipes install ..... such a sweet, deep rumble sound those pipes make :biglaugh: Enjoy !

hell the **** ya! it's better than i could've ever imagine. a nice deep, thick, full-bodied, blub-blub-blub. it's all everyone has said and more. none of the you tube vids does the exhaust any justice. it's something that you've got to experience first hand. my garage door was shaking. hahaha. pictures and vid soon to come--patience my brothas, patience. just so you know, i borrowed my bro's sound level meter. i've got before, during, and after footage.

Very nice! Now that's what a vmax should sound like!! Did you tweak the carbs yet? I think Mark suggests 2&1/2 to 3 turns out on the mixture screws and shim the needles .038. Dont forget to check the float heights!

Sound great! Congrats, I know hearing one for the first time is pretty awesome.

What are these things mounted in your right scoop? Did I miss a thread somehwere?

Excellent video editing skills by the way..I can barely figure out how to upload one to you tube:punk:

so those are some of them faux vent stickons that posers put on there cars. the story goes like this. i was doing some modding or some maintaining and had the scoops off. it got late and i went to bed neglecting to pick the scoops up off of the garage floor. the wife returned from her graveyard shift and drove her urban assault vehicle over the scoop. obviously the damage wasn't that detrimental. there's a slight crack and some surface abrasion--enough for me of an eyesore, but not enough to dump coin into a replacement. i was in wallyworld, looking for something and happened upon those stickons and figured hey why not, it's worth a shot. i know it's cheese to some, but i'm ok with it.

So instead of shimming the needles and adjusting the A/F mixture, I installed the Stage 7 kit that's been sitting in my project closet for over half a year.
Admittedly, I jumped the gun buying the kit before I clued in on Sean's Muscle kit. If I could do it again, I'd go after Sean's kit, but I came across a deal on the DJ kit that my novice Monkey just couldn't refuse.

Anyways......

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

After wasting an hour or so of being a complete moron :bang head: I finally figured out that the reason why the bike kept stalling while trying to throttle up from 1K to 2K was because I'm idiot and didn't move the spacers off of the stock needles and onto the DJ needles. As soon as I corrected this, I was hauling ass all over the neighborhood, trippin' like a dosed-up fool peaking through the vortex fantastic, high-fiving myself as I looked at the my shadows on the road to see how cool I looked, and wishing I had donned my jacket and helmet, cuz it was flippin cold--but **** it, I was FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!.
:hippy biker:
I tweaked the A/F mixture to 3 turns and adjusted the idle screw so that the bikes rumbles at around 1.1K. The bike has a very noticeable punch now with each throttle twiddle and engaging the clutch is SUPER smooth at 4-5K ish. GOD my love for the Max has been revitalized. After parking the bike in the garage after my run, I couldn't wipe that stupid "vboost" grin off my grill. I anticipate that there may be some more minor tweaking and maybe a visit or two to a dyno in the days ahead, but for now---
Ahhhhhhh Yah Boyeeeee!!!!! :punk: I'm so pumped, I can hardly type. It's effin incredible. :th_image003:

When I was a teenager, and I found out I was diabetic, my parents finally caved in and let me get a dog. He looked almost exactly like this one! :biglaugh:
His name was Brutus, and he could climb trees. :punk:

Buster Hymen what was wrong with all the post that you deleted.

i asked him to. i just wanted to clean up the thread is all. there was talk of vacuum mods that belong in the "vacuum mod" thread, else the guy's insights into the mod would forever be lost and those wanting to learn of the mod would never be the wiser.
