I am going to Tennesee to visit inlaws the 3 rd week of June. My inlaws live in Alcoa so I ride the dragon every year & am about over it. I am a big country music fan so I wanted to go stay a night in Nashville this year & was wondering if there is shows all during the week or if it was just a weekend thing. We are also thinging about staying night in NC or Georgia & finding some roads. All input is appreciated.

Lots of great GA back roads similar to # 28 at the Dragon , just North of Atlanta , about 30 miles , beginning around Gainesville , & North towards the mountains. We can probably get 5 or 6 regulars to ride with or make it cozy with a couple of us. Whatever blows your dress up. Just stay in touch prior to coming up this way.

N.C. around Boone is home to Marcus and the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Very picturesque Pkwy. with lots of pull offs for pictures and such . Nice riding and nice people too.

Thanks Rollie I guess I need to start looking for a place to stay & see what we come up with. I am stil not sure if were gonns stay in NC or what. My better half is a picture whore & she keeps talking about part of the blue ridge that we have not been on yet.

Stone Mountain , Cyclorama , Atl. Braves , Coca Cola , Aquarium , all provide entertainment & picture opportunities if you haven't already enjoyed them & are all in and about the city . 35 minutes to Gainesville and the gateway to the mountain roads.

Maggie Valley NC is a great little biker friendly town just south of the Dragon. From there, it's spittin distance to the start of the BRP in Cherokee. Too many good rides outta there to list, but one of the more memorable ones for me was over the Cherohola Skyway and on down to a small hwy that passes a place called Bald River Falls (can't remember the hwy #), on google maps it's just called River Road. BEAUTIFUL riding in that whole area.

Wish I were going again this year.

I lived inand around Atlanta, Georgia for close to 7 years and the North Georgia mountains were one of my favorite retreats from the city. There are many Bed and Breakfasts, camping and recreational opportunities there. The roads would be great to ride on, and I look forward to when I can get back there with Redbone to ride, Hwy 60 out of Dahlonega northward towards Blue Ridge Lake would be one first I'd tackle. You really could not go wrong staying anywhere near the Georgia/ North Carolina/ South Carolina/ Tennesee junction.
