This sticky in the carb section is a great write up and has plenty of pictures to show the orientation of the needle and the main jet. The parts you are referring to #30 and #29 are a washer and a screw with a flat slotted head.

I agree with asherc. The needle slides in the emulsion tube. The tube is held in the jet block with a brass screw (which I've broke before) the main jet is threaded in on an angle near the opposite end of the jet block. Not sure how the needle is going to fit in the main.

Straight down the center of the Diaphram assembly #10 (slide), through the main nozzle #35 (needle jet) through the jet block #33 and right into the main jet #30.

Dragmaxster I was going to tell you what Thor told you but being a newbe didn't want to come across the wrong way. But he's right the main jet is at the bottom of the jet block & the dump tube & needle is at the top. :confused2:

My bad- too many suzuki's. Ok on suzuki's the needles sit directly in the main jets and if you look at the tube leading to the main jet on the jet block as the needle rises it opens the needles passage ( about 25 holes) straight to the main jet.

#30 in the diagram says "MAIN JET WASHER" and is wrong so that is boats.net fault not mine- i know that #29 is a flat head screw that holds the needle jet to the jet block. The main jet in the diagram(#44) is listed as "SCREW,PAN HEAD" and is also wrong.
