Yep, they both do the job. I chose kn purely for cost savings. Although, don't have an airbox anymore lol.

Yes, with 3 inch velocity stacks.

I like it. More intake noise and midrange torque seems better. I'm sure it'll sound even better once I pick up the louvered top cover. How is that feeling with the velocity stacks?

I agree, If I had a full exhaust, I'd go with Sean Morley's jet kit over the Stage 7 kit because Sean's has better low end and mid-range HP/Torque.I had a stock air box with a drop in K&N, I just went the Morleys route with the filtered airbox lid. Its fantastic for a couple reasons, namely torque and music. Now I have this like new K&N laying around.

I am and I like it.This is way off topic but, you guys running the Barnett clutch and plate?
Its actually not the sexiest thing I have ever seen but its solid and it sure effen works. I changed needles from stage one to 7 and a couple other little tweaks when I installed mine but I can hear and feel it breathing better. My boost in midrange and top end is quite noticeable and the bike is more eager. Im very pleased, this lid gets two thumbs up.

No, But the Barnett clutch with the gold springs works great, it's about 20-25% stronger than stock and seems to shift smoother IMO.You also run the se thru cover as well?
