If I modify my stock exhaust on my '96 Max ( either drilling the endcaps or a 1 inch hole in center baffle ), I understand this will lean out my motor & kill my low/midrange . Can I simply simply shim the needles ( maybe about 1 mm ) to make this up , or is it much more involved than that ?

Hi Rich,
I've done the 2 mods that you talk of in your post. The shim is about 0.020" and I drilled the center baffel with a 1" uni-bit.
Works great and sounds good.
