Good Friday Evening Fellow Vmax Enthusiasts.

I just purchased my 3rd Vmax 1200 (in 30 years) just before Christmas last month. This time I bought the 2005 20th Anniversary Limited Edition. While the '05 is arguably a very special Vmax in its own right, this particular one is incredible. When I asked him why he spent so much money on this bike? He said "I decided that in building my ultimate dream machine Vmax, that cost should not be the most important thing. Optimizing performance and creating solutions was my priority.

While he seems to have been a pretty good mechanic, electrical controls apparently were not his forte. Fortunately, as a retired 45 year Master Electrician, I know a little about the subject.
Consequently, I am now trying to locate information and parts to rewire everything on the handlebars and forks (i.e. lighting, headlight bucket, left-hand and right-hand control switches, wiring harness, and the like). I just got my 1985-2007 Clymer Service Manual yesterday.

On the positive this bike has less than 12K miles. It runs like a Greyhound and snarls like a tiger with its Holeshot Performance cans and nonstock cams. Until I get these electrical issues solved, I have a sweet liquid cooled 2009 Yamaha V-Star 1300 to ride when I feel the urge to cruise that refer as "Dr. Jekyll".

Thanks for letting me become a member. Please feel free to introduce yourself. I will post some photos as soon as I figure out how to do that. I will also try to stay active, helpful, and respectful on the forum, when I'm not riding or repairing. Any tips, opinions, observations, or constructive criticisms will likely be most appreciated. I have reasonably thick skin LOL.
