Greetings all. I hope this topic is ok in this intro thread. Vmax owner for twenty+ year s. On my second bike-86 Blk. Stock bike except for some LED running lights (may get stock lights…visibility difference?) I’m looking for a stock exhaust pipe ( rear section only). It apparently is no longer made and I can’t find it. Anyone know about compatibility with other subsequent models? Thanks for the time. Take care and ride safe!

Look in the forum want ads/for sale parts. CaptainKyle [email protected] or Sean Morley [email protected] may have good used ones. 1986-2007 should be the same, except for finish where some were black instead of chrome.

The 1985 didn't meet EPA regulations and I believe the headers may be a different size. Sean Morley or CaptainKyle will probably chime in on that. Since the front headers are twin-walled, the I.D. may be where the change is, while the outside chrome tube in front may be the same. Not sure about the rear cylinders' header pipes' difference in diameter, if there is one.

Marving makes a replacement megaphone, but you need to contact them to see if it fits OEM header pipes. It has a balance tube instead of the highly-engineered factory exhaust chamber/resonator which is part of the OEM megaphones 1-piece exhaust part.

Thank you very much. Great info. It’s the last piece of the puzzle after being forced off the road several years ago. Towed her home and almost gave up. Back to almost mint. I appreciate your time. These bikes are the best.

Greetings from Presque Isle (north of Alpena).

I hope you find the exhaust. I have my bike in completely stock condition.
Thank you. Brighton Mi. My first bike was a 91’. My buddy totaled it. This one almost back to mint. Just waiting on spring. Take care
